Video packaging Skills add a consistent motion-graphics look to a talking-head video: giant type, callouts, data cards, highlighter strokes, and similar on-screen graphics that land on what the speaker says. ChatCut lists them under **Motion Graphics Styles**, which is a collection of 11 individual style Skills rather than a single generic Skill. Each style requires footage of a presenter speaking to camera and returns an editable packaged timeline with no fixed duration.

All 11 styles run in ChatCut Web and ChatCut Desktop, except Wireframe Style and Monochrome Magazine, which run in ChatCut Desktop only. For custom graphics without presenter-to-camera footage, describe what you want in the AI composer instead (see [Motion Graphics](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/motion-graphics)).

## How do I choose a style?

Match the style to the topic and the tone of your video. Every style has a short description on its Skill page and a preview in the Skill library (select **View all** above). These are the five most used styles in the last 30 days:

- **Runway Rebel.** Huge bold white type with slim bright-yellow numerals, laid straight over your footage. Suits hot takes, fashion, and creator advice.
- **Redline Tech.** A black dot-matrix spec table with a red highlighted row. Specs and numbers appear as you mention them. Suits tech, camera, and gadget reviews.
- **Highlight Moments.** Off-white paper, charcoal text, and a single yellow highlighter stroke on the key line. Quiet and restrained. Suits study tips, knowledge sharing, and book notes.
- **Electric Impact Type.** Deep navy with bright red accents, giant condensed numbers, data bars, and full-screen quotes. Suits business and startup talks with data and strong opinions.
- **Editorial Explainer.** Notebook chapter pages, grey-paper data charts, and yellow highlighter marks, alternating with your on-camera shots like a news explainer. Suits news explainers, current affairs, and data stories.

The rest of the family:

- **Brainstorm Breeze.** Handwriting on whiteboard paper, blue and coral marker strokes, and arrows between ideas. Suits explainers and whiteboard lessons.
- **Red-Pen Rewind.** Typewriter type, archive paper, and a red pen that circles, strikes out, and rewrites key numbers. Suits history, investigations, and fact-checks.
- **Orange Unfiltered.** Giant grainy orange type, in front of and behind you. Suits punchy, fast-paced talks with a strong point of view.
- **Real Footage to Handpainted Style.** Turns real footage into moving, handpainted scenes, with split screens and expressive typography. You can also upload B-roll, which is used first.
- **Wireframe Style** (Desktop only). Keywords pop in with your speech, and relevant objects flash from live footage into fine wireframes. Suits creative tips, gear introductions, and product explainers.
- **Monochrome Magazine** (Desktop only). Black-and-white editorial layouts frame the presenter, with image-filled type in natural color.

## What do I need before I start?

- **Presenter-to-camera footage.** One presenter speaking to camera, with clear audio. You can upload 1 to 20 recordings in the form. These styles do not build a standalone explainer without presenter footage.
- **Optional notes.** Key points, names, or numbers you want highlighted. The form’s **Notes** field takes up to 1,000 characters.
- **Optional B-roll** for Real Footage to Handpainted Style only. Without B-roll, the Agent searches for matching supporting shots.
- **Credits.** Built-in Agent reasoning and hosted Motion Graphics model work use ChatCut credits, and the amount varies with your video and request. If a connected external agent writes the Motion Graphics code itself, that work is billed by the external agent’s host; any ChatCut-hosted media generation is still charged separately. See [Credits](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/credits-policy).

## How do I run a packaging Skill?

1. Open the Skill from its page on [chatcut.io/skills](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/skills), from **Home**, or from **Skills** in the AI composer.
2. Upload your video. Add notes if you have them.
3. Select **Start creating**. The Skill hands the work to the Agent in ChatCut.
4. Review the packaged timeline. Ask the Agent for changes in the same project, or edit by hand.

### Fill in the form

All the styles in this family share the same short form. This is the Runway Rebel form. Try it here: it opens ChatCut with your choices filled in.

Try the form

Try the Runway Rebel form on its [Skill page](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/skills/motion-graphics?template=mg-packaging-runway-rebel).

[](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/skills/motion-graphics?template=mg-packaging-runway-rebel)

| Field | Options | What it changes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Talking-head video** | Upload or drop one or more videos (up to 20) | The footage to package. Clear audio and a single presenter work best |
| **Notes** | Optional text, up to 1,000 characters | Key points, names, or numbers to emphasize in the graphics |

The style itself is fixed by the Skill you chose. To try another look, open another style’s page.

Real Footage to Handpainted Style uses the same two fields. Its upload field also takes B-roll.

## Prompts you can copy

You can also attach a style from **Skills** in the AI composer and describe the video yourself.

Prompt

```text
Use Redline Tech on @phone-review. Highlight the camera, battery, and price specs when I say them. Keep the footage's own look unchanged and do not add captions.
```

Prompt

```text
Package @study-tips with Highlight Moments. Emphasize the three tips as I list them and the final takeaway. Leave my face clear in every frame.
```

Prompt

```text
Use Editorial Explainer on @market-update. Show the two numbers I quote as chart cards, then return to the camera for each opinion.
```

## What does ChatCut do for me?

1. **Cleans up first, when needed.** If the footage has obvious flubs—repeated takes, false starts, long dead pauses, or dead air at the start or end—the Agent cleans them up before packaging, keeping the last complete take of every sentence and never deleting a sentence that has no other take. If there are no obvious flubs, it does not re-edit and packages the footage as is. It states in the final summary which one it did.
2. **Applies the style.** The Skill fixes the Design Style, so the Agent builds directly without asking you to pick a look. See [Design Styles](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/design-styles).
3. **Follows the footage’s orientation.** Vertical footage normally gives a 1080×1920 timeline and landscape footage gives 1920×1080, unless you ask for something else.
4. **Places graphics where the speech lands.** Titles, callouts, numbers, and emphasis follow what the presenter says and the style’s visual rules (for example, notebook chapter pages, grey-paper charts, and yellow highlights in Editorial Explainer), without forcing every component type onto every source. See [Motion Graphics](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/motion-graphics).
5. **Leaves the rest alone.** It does not add captions, a film look, a color grade, or grain unless you ask. Any texture stays inside the Motion Graphics. For captions, see [Caption styles](https://pr-824-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/caption-styles).

## What do I get?

You get an editable packaged timeline—not a flat render—with no fixed duration or batch count. The graphics are editable Motion Graphics, so you can change their text and other exposed properties on the canvas, or ask the Agent to revise them. The Agent summarizes whether it cleaned up the speech or kept the footage as is, and what graphics it added. Export when you are happy with the result.

## What are the limits and tips?

- **One presenter, clear audio.** Presenter-to-camera footage with clear speech gives the best result.
- **Graphics follow what you say.** Elements such as chapter cards, lower thirds, and data charts describe a style’s vocabulary, not a fixed checklist guaranteed on every video. Redline Tech is built for spec-style content, and Red-Pen Rewind is built around numbers and evidence. Pick the style that matches your content, and name specific points or numbers in **Notes** when you want them emphasized.
- **Revise in the same project.** Name the graphic and the change, such as a new headline, a different accent, or a shorter hold.
- **Desktop-only styles.** Wireframe Style and Monochrome Magazine do not run in ChatCut Web.
- **Review before export.** Play the whole video and check that no graphic covers the speaker’s face.
