Edit training footage beyond avatar slides

Combine recorded experts, AI avatars, animated charts and dubbed speech on a multitrack timeline you can keep refining.

Mix real experts with avatar presenters

Turn a solo recording into a lip-synced avatar or cut the speaker's retakes and pauses on the same timeline.

Try Speech Cleanup

Layer kinetic captions behind the presenter

Go beyond standard scene subtitles and place bold display captions directly behind your speaker on a multitrack timeline.

Try Add captions

Add animated charts over training clips

Upgrade a plain talking-head explanation with kinetic titles and animated bar charts that stay editable on the timeline.

Try Editorial Explainer

Check the transcript before six-language dubbing

Fix the source transcript without an Enterprise plan, then lip-sync your presenter across languages while keeping voice and face.

Try Video Translation

Run training edits from Claude or Codex

Synthesia lists non-chat MCP clients as experimental; ChatCut connects its desktop timeline directly to Claude Code and Codex.

Claude Code

Edit an expert training session

Read chatcut.io/desktop to install ChatCut, then turn my recorded expert explanation into a two-minute onboarding lesson, remove retakes and long pauses, and add captions and numbered process callouts on an editable timeline.

Codex

Build a multilingual software tutorial

Read chatcut.io/desktop to install ChatCut, then edit my screen recording into a 90-second software tutorial with zooms and step labels, let me review the source transcript, and make a Spanish dubbed version.

How the Agent Plugin works

ChatCut vs Synthesia FAQ

Is ChatCut a Synthesia alternative?

Yes, especially when your training videos combine recorded experts, screen captures and generated visuals that need further editing. ChatCut offers avatars, voiceover and dubbing alongside an agent that edits your timeline. Synthesia is a strong fit for avatar presentations and training delivered through its sharing and LMS workflows.

Can I open a Synthesia Syren video in the standard editor?

Synthesia says Syren videos cannot open in its standard editor; you revise them through chat and can export a video file. This restriction is specific to Syren: standard Studio drafts can be refined in the Synthesia editor. ChatCut keeps agent edits on a timeline you can also adjust manually.

Is ChatCut free?

Yes. The Free plan includes the editor, uploads, transcription, captions and standard exports. AI generation and the built-in agent use credits, and AI video generation needs a paid plan.

Can I use ChatCut from Claude Code or Codex?

Yes. The ChatCut plugin runs in Claude Code and the Codex app, and ChatCut Desktop connects Claude Code, Codex and other agents through a local MCP server. Your agent edits the real timeline, which you can keep adjusting by hand.

How the plugin works
Can I finish a ChatCut edit in another editor?

Yes. ChatCut exports XML timelines for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, and ChatCut Desktop also exports editable CapCut drafts. It does not export Final Cut Pro XML (FCPXML).
